Many Stars II Renovation is underway!

People’s Center Clinics & Services is happy to announce that we have begun renovating our Longfellow Clinic!

Set to re-open in 2025, our aim is to bolster our capacity to serve a growing patient population with a renovation that will reconfigure the space to make it ADA accessible, be culturally responsive to existing patients, and add additional services such as Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Case Management and Navigator services.

People’s Center will continue to meet the needs of our ever-growing patient community in an accessible, equitable, and inclusive way through a centrally located, state-of-the art clinic, allowing for physical health services, dentistry, behavioral health services, community gathering spaces and cultural resources to co-exist in one location. This enhanced clinic space will allow People’s Center to elevate our care model and lower barriers to access for even more community members in need of primary care that considers their language, religion, cultural background, community relationships and more.

Located at 3152 Minnehaha Ave S., People’s Center acquired Family Dental Care (now People’s Center Dental Clinic) in 2010 to increase access to direct dental care and oral hygiene education for patients receiving Medicaid. In 2011, the dental clinic was wholly owned by the People’s Center and we were also the first FQHC in the nation to hire a dental therapist to increase patient access to dental care and was the first community clinic. Now, as the People’s Center patient population continues to evolve and grow, an update to the building to include additional services is what the community needs.

From what was once a dental-only clinic, we will be adding:

-            3 Medical exam rooms

-            1 Behavioral Health room

-            Lab services

-            A culturally inclusive prayer room

-            ADA bathroom with foot cleansing station

-            Consultation room for financial and treatment counseling

Timeline for the renovation:

June 2024- Groundbreaking and construction begins

Q1 2025: Grand opening and services begin
