Opioid Roundtable Convened by Representative Omar

People's Center’s Nurse Practitioner Bashir Ahmed, alongside our CEO Ann Rogers joined providers from other community health clinics and local and state government to discuss and learn further how to work together to address the significant impact of substance use in our communities and how Medical Assisted Treatment can be used as a part of the recovery process.

Data from the Minnesota Department of Health shows that from 2020 to 2021, opioid-involved overdose deaths increased by 44%, to an all-time high of 978 deaths in 2021.
